Nicole Marshall, founder of CWRS, initially established her private practice on the Sunshine Coast in 2007 as a member of the team at Coastal Physiotherapy. When she and her business partner took over this business in 2007 they transformed the practice from a solely Physiotherapy practice to a comprehensive and holistic treatment centre, incoroporating the roles of Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Remedial Massage Therapy and Psychology.
Ongoing success of this business and the improved recognition of workplace rehabilitation, has seen the establishment of Coastal Work and Rehabilitation Solutions.
The main role of CWRS is in occupational health and safety (including management of individuals return to work and health and safety within an organisation). Nicole has expanded the role of the Occupational Therapist within CWRS from the provision of high quality vocational rehabilitation services, to now include comprehensive assessment and advice on assisting individuals to maintain their level of independence and functioning within the home. This client group entails not only injured workers, but also the elderly, and other individuals experiencing functional difficulty within the home due to illness or frailty. Funding may be available for these assessments with medicare and through the Department of Veteran Affairs for eligible candidates.
The expansion of the business has resulted in the geographical growth of CWRS services to now have consultants servicing the Sunshine Coast, Brisbane and the Gold Coast.
